Hi! I would imagine that the tiles need to go first then the shower tray. By doing so, you'll avoid having to re-tiel the whole shower if you have to fix the tray or underneath portion of the shower in the future. Wow, what an incredible transformation to the whole property. Love watching this show and the family. I'm looking forward to the renovation journey and the bee keeping adventure! ❤

Re septic tanks. When we had septic system we used a product called Rid-X it is a natural bacteria and advanced enzymes start working immediately to break down paper, protein, oils and grease. We would just dump it down the toilet once a month, or more often if we had many guests. And our septic system had a leach field where the water would leach out into the field. It is whole system. Where I live in California we had special requirements from our county how and where to place it. Because as you can imagine, you would not want to place it anywhere near a well where the waste can contaminate the well water. You may find Rid-X or Portuguese product that does the same thing of breaking down the waste. Just having someone pump the waste out is only part of a healthy waste system. And it makes a big difference what you put into the waste system. Some people only use special toilet paper that breaks down easily and so forth. And it’s good to look at the products you buy as “septic safe” on the label. Best wishes that you get it all sorted,out.

I absolutely love the Mario/Crusoe relationship, and how patient Mario is. Crusoe and Sawyer will grow up with a wealth of skills and knowledge that most teens have to learn at Trade Schools. As parents, John and Tara you execel, your children are confident, caring," you ok daddy" when John was in the hole, and happy. As a retired Social Worker, I long for this to be true for all children. The bathroom is coming on nicely, and soon that whole extension project will be completed. Well done. I had one of those tanks installed in Alentejo in 2008. 7 years after when I sold the property it was still going strong! 5 people living permanently with 2 grown up kids coming for the week end. Great system if you can’t be connected to municipal sewage network. Unlike what you said, quite common in Portugal.

In the uk and no there shower trays usually have a lip on the sides where there will be tiles - the shower tray goes in first then the wall tiles go on and that way it is all sealed we also have to water proof the walls How will stop water going down the three sides of those walls ?

I think Crusoe’s future is in heavy equipment operations. He’s so fascinated by it.

I think the shower tray is upside down, it should collect the water and drain down, you capped your existing drain, when you should have capped your shower drain and and simply drilled a whole in it to connect to existing drain.

You don’t actually have to tell us if you make mistakes in choosing materials, etc for your project. It just helps you make better decisions, but we don’t need to see or hear about it.
